Q. What does the Fair offer?
A. Resources, hands-on activities, lifestyle information A through Z, for every aspect of active living for older adults and their families, caregivers, and those individuals seeking credible, reliable future lifestyle planning information. In addition - health screenings and tests, safety education, flu and pneumonia shots; all day live entertainment; dancing; art, quilt and photo shows; prizes and awards are part of the celebration at 135 colorful booths and the on the Main Stage.
Q. What can I do at the Fair?
A. Get a flu or pneumonia shot; find out about housing; legal issues; volunteer, travel and educational opportunities, and other lifestyle resources; get health and healthcare questions answered; get your queries about operating your digital camera answered one-on-one by the pros; enjoy the Avenue of the Quilts; take part in ongoing fitness clinics and classes, see a display and slide show of photographs by award winning Marin photographers; take in the all day entertainment on the Main Stage and around the Fair. Win prizes and enjoy the Awards Ceremonies emceed by popular Bay Area broadcaster, Jan Wahl. For more information see the Fair Highlights page.
Q. Is the Fair only for seniors?
A. No, not at all. People of 55 and over will find the Fair a perfect place to research and explore the opportunities for active living as they think about and begin to make plans for their future life experiences.
Q. What is this year’s theme?
A. The 2011 theme is “SEIZE THE DAY!” Connect, Communicate, Contribute! It celebrates involvement, giving back, and the power of the senior community to effect changes in their own lives and the lives of others.
Q. Can my organization become a sponsor?
A. We welcome your inquiries regarding sponsorship. For more information, check out the Fair Sponsorship page. If you would like to speak to someone about becoming a Sponsor, please call 415-456-FAIR and leave a contact name and number.
Q. How can my business or organization become an exhibitor?
A. Visit the website at www.marinseniorinformationfair.org Click on Exhibitors in the column on the left. Then click on Application & Agreement in the column on the left. Print out , fill in, sign and send with your check to the address on the application. OR call the Fair Hotline and leave a message with your name and phone number.
Q. What’s the date, time and location of the 26th annual Marin Senior Information Fair “SEIZE THE DAY!” Connect, Communicate, Contribute!
A. Wednesday, October 19, 2011, from 9AM to 3PM, at the Marin
Exhibit Hall, 10 Avenue of the Flags, San Rafael, California.
Q: Is it held indoors or outdoors?
A: The Marin Senior Information Fair is held indoors.
Q. How much does it cost to attend?
A. Admission is free.
Q: Is there parking? Is it free?
A. Yes plenty of free parking is available in and around the Marin Exhibit Hall. In addition we provide a free parking Lot Shuttle Service to get visitors to and from their vehicles parked in the Civic Center lots.
Q. Can I purchase lunch or a snack at the Fair?
A. Yes. Healthy and moderately priced lunches, snacks and beverages are available at the Food Court
Q. Can get a ride to and from the Fair? What does it cost?
A. Yes. Whistlestop provides a Free All Day Roundtrip Fair Shuttle from its Tamalpais Avenue location in San Rafael, to the Fair and back. Please contact Whistlestop at 415-454-0964 for ride information.
Q. Do you offer Flu and Pneumonia shots?
A. Yes. Sutter Care at Home offers the shots at the Marin Senior Information Fair. Register at the Fair’s Main entrance area.
Q. How many exhibitor booths are at the Fair?
A. Between 135 and 140 colorful and interesting booths exhibit at the Fair. They offer everything from lifestyle information, to health screenings, to demonstrations and hands on activities.
Q. How many people attend the Fair?
A. Anywhere from 4500 to 5000 people enjoy the Fair each year.
Q. Is the Fair wheelchair accessible?
A. Yes
