“I DON’T KNOW HOW TO DO THIS”

Join us at the Main Stage for stories, poetry and readings by Vilma Ginzberg, Healdburg’s Literary Laureate in 2008 and 2009.

“I was a lifelong closet writer until I retired” says Ginzberg, who came out of that closet and took to writing in earnest, publishing her first book of poetry at the age of 77. She’s a high energy, humorous presenter with touching and funny poems and stories to share. “I’m a good example of an active, creative older person,” says Vilma, now 84 years young.

In addition to her first three books, Colors of Glass -2004; Murmurs & Outcries -2007; and Snake Pit -2010; Ginzberg welcomes 2011 publication of her fourth collection, I Don’t Know How to Do This, Poems on Aging. “I consider spoken performance poetry an important literary art form,” she says.
