THE MARIN SENIOR INFORMATION FAIR'S 2008 EVENT
Come celebrate life's pleasures at the Marin Senior Information Fair's 2008 event, "WHAT'S YOUR GAME ?" The Fair is open for your enjoyment and participation on Wednesday, October 22, from 9 AM to 3 PM at the Marin Exhibit Hall, 10 Avenue of The Flags, in San Rafael. Admission is free.
Fair visitors are informed, assisted, and entertained at more than 125 cleverly decorated and and colorful booths based on the "WHAT'S YOUR GAME?" theme. Exhibitors present a variety of hands-on activity centers, a flu shot clinic, numerous free health screenings, a quilting demonstration and colorful show, fitness demonstrations, an art demonstration and media show, and other delighful experiences.
Live music, dancing, prizes, awards, and all-day entertainment are emceed by KRON TV broadcaster Jan Wahl.
Fair booths present information of interest and concern to older adults, including: housing, legal issues, volunteer opportunities, voting, social security, medication, Medicare, physical therapies, safety and medical equipment, travel, health related issues, home care, hospitals, nutrition, education, physical fitness, hospices, health testing, cultural activities, nutrition, finance, real estate, senior support programs of all kinds, and more.
2008 booth highlights include a variety of Health Evaluations, Computer Lessons, Flu Shots, Spinal Screenings, professional Massage therapy, Chiropractic Evaluations, Blood Pressure checks and other health screenings, food tasting, games, and more.
Live entertainment is an all day affair at "WHAT'S YOUR GAME?", and presents ballroom dancing to the strains of the Starduster Orchestra, and a whole line-up of song, magic, and movement artists selected for your enjoyment.
Fair visitors are also invited to enter into the Fair's many Prize drawing opportunities. Prizes will be awarded to lucky Fair goers by KRON broadcast personality Jan Wahl.
Whistlestop Wheels provides free, round trip rides from their Tamalpais Avenue, San Rafael location, to the Fair and back. MV Transportation provides Parking Lot Shuttle Service from the various Fair-parking areas to the Fair's front door and back, for your convenience.
The 2008 Fair is sponsored by the County of Marin and the Marin Independent Journal. Event patrons include Alma Via of San Rafael, Drake Terrace, Tamalpais Bank, The Tamalpais, and Sutter VNA.
